The team from ND arrived July 3, 2003.

Mike points to a region of Kiev--200,000 people & only 4 evangelical churches.

We pray for the people of Ukraine.

We feel honored to be used by God for His work.

We traveled 20 hours by train to minister in the Alushta Baptist Church.

Sunday, July 6. Steve preaches through translator Dima.

Our team enjoyed meeting our brothers and sisters in Alushta.

Pastor Sasha's daughter, Leeza, and the babooshka who cares for her often.

Normal breakfast at the hotel--hot dogs and rice or maccaroni, vegetables.

Monday, July 7. Lena tests Olya's English ability to find out which class she will be in.

9:30 AM We started each day with group singing.

Our students loved to learn English songs.

10:15--We broke into our English classes.

The advanced class takes a break and plays a game.

The advanced class normally had 10 students in attendance.

One Beginner Class

Renee's beginner class grew to 16 students.

Lydia teaches on the static cling whiteboard.

The other beginner class plays a get acquainted game.

Today's letter was "J". Translator Dima reads the Bible story about Jonah.

Judy's beginner class grew to 18 students.

We used the Bible as a teaching tool.

11:45 AM--Time to join together for group singing again.

Our students loved songs with actions.
